VUCC is a kayak & canoe club based at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, but is open to everyone, students and non-students alike.

The club was founded in 1980, and has been introducing people of all ages to kayaking for nearly 40 years.

We are primarily a whitewater kayaking club, with the Hutt Gorge our local run, and Lyall Bay our local surf spot.

If you feel like giving whitewater kayaking a go, come down to our weekly pool sessions during the university year (Thursday 7.45pm until 8.45pm at Freyberg swimming pool on Oriental Parade). Please note our new start time of 7.45pm. While we don't run these sessions over summer, we are still out and about enjoying the sunshine and water, so flick us an email to get in touch.
